Martial arts for kids Ages 4 to 15

    Kids today live on screens.

They spend less time moving, playing and building confidence face to face.

If your child struggles with focus, shyness or standing up for themselves, you are not alone.

    Kids sessions
  • Two adults mid technique on the mats, one working to pass the other's guard

Martial arts for adults 16 and over

    Want to do something active?

But most options feel boring, and there is nobody there to hold you accountable.

Something is missing, and another monthly membership you never use will not fix it.

Discipline

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

A grappling-based martial art.

You learn how to take someone down, get to a strong position and submit them.

You learn to defend yourself using technique instead of strength.

That means it can work for different ages, sizes and fitness levels.

Discipline

Kickboxing

A striking martial art taught on pads and with partners.

You learn how to punch, kick, move and defend.

You practise on pads with a partner before adding controlled contact.

A coach sets the pace, and nobody spars before they are ready.

Kids

  • A child mid drill in a kids jiu jitsu class, concentrating hard

    Homework without the fight

Focus practised on the mat can follow your child home. They learn to listen, wait their turn and finish what they start.

  • A teenager in a black gi taking grips against a training partner

    Stand tall in the playground

Students practise looking people in the eye, speaking clearly and standing up for themselves and others.

  • Two young children taking grips while a coach kneels beside them

    Friends from day one

Your child trains with the same students each week. They learn names, work with partners and feel part of the group.

Adults

  • Two adults working pads together in a kickboxing class

Keep up with your kids again

Pad rounds and live drills build strength and stamina without asking you to stare at a treadmill.

  • A coach holding a controlled position while working through a technique with a student

    Walk home without worry

Each session teaches practical ways to protect yourself or your family, with a coach controlling the pace.

  • Two students laughing partway through a round of jiu jitsu

Friends who notice you are gone

This is an academy where people learn your name. You train with partners instead of working out alone.

Great place to come if your thinking about starting Jiu Jitsu. Instructors are really knowledgeable and make you feel welcome to come and learn. Good venue and a nice group of people.

01 The objection

We are the most expensive academy in Barnsley

We know. We have heard it. And honestly, we will probably never be able to compete on price.

We do not run massive sessions, we do not cut corners on coaching, and we do not pack the mats to make the numbers work. That makes us expensive.

02 The reason

Thankfully expensive

It means small sessions where your coach knows your name, your ability and your limits.

It means clean mats, qualified instructors, and a place where nobody gets overlooked.

Whether you are trusting us with your child or trusting us with yourself, some things should not be a bargain.

The difference you feel in week one

How it works here

  • A structured programme built for beginners
  • Your coach knows your name from day one
  • You train with people at your level
  • Sessions split by age, from 4 up to adults

How it often goes

  • No clear plan, a different thing every week
  • Hope the instructor notices you
  • Thrown in with people who just want to win
  • Little ones sharing a mat with teenagers
A large crowded class in a municipal sports hall, one instructor at the front and nobody getting individual attention

Common questions

Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. You do not need any Jiu-Jitsu or martial arts experience. Your first session covers the basics at a steady pace. A coach will guide you and help you settle in.

What age groups do you cater for?

Sessions start at age 4, with groups for ages 4 to 6, 7 to 11, 12 to 15 and adults aged 16 and over. Check the timetable for current days and times.

Is it safe? I do not want to get hurt.

Like any contact sport, Jiu-Jitsu carries some risk. We manage it with close coaching and a steady start. You learn the basics first and only move on when you are ready.

What if I just want to try it once before committing?

That is why we offer a free trial session. You can meet the coaches and step onto the mats before you decide. It is a simple way to see if the academy feels right for you or your child.

There is a free session with your name on it.

Walking in the first time is the hard part. Tell us you are coming and we will handle the rest.
